Personal and Professional Background
Originally from Duluth, Minnesota I vacationed on Sanibel, bought investment property and dreamed of someday becoming a full time resident. In 1985 I made that dream a reality and also obtained my Florida real estate license.
While living in Minnesota, I worked for the KMG Accounting Services Group. After moving to Sanibel, I performed accounting services for Bailey's General Store. From 1989 to 2002, I was the co-founder and successful operator of Sanibel Travel which included vacation rental services. My vacation clientele and former business activities provided the opportunity to transition into the real estate profession on our beautiful islands of Sanibel and Captiva. I am proud to be a member of the Executive Club which has the distinction of over 25 million in sales.
When asked what I enjoy most about being a Realtor® I would have to say discovering innovative ways of marketing for my clients that are selling their properties, bonding with my clients that are buying and really getting to know them and their needs. My background in accounting keeps me organized and focused on the many details involved in bringing a real estate transaction to a successful closing. I am a cancer survivor so I believe I have a deep appreciation for life and truly enjoy helping people fulfill their dreams.
I love to cook, experimenting with new recipes and sharing them with friends and clients. Other outside interests include travel, fishing and enjoying the many other facets of the island lifestyle. I am also an active member of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA), president of the Sanibel Palm Lake Homeowner's Association where I reside and the Childrens Miracle Network.
